Ashley Gorge summit
A new obsession. A hidden gem. A mission worth building.
A few years ago I started climbing — and it immediately took over. Every route became a project: a problem to figure out, work through, and overcome. The reward isn't just the summit. It's the views, the silence up high, the feeling of doing something genuinely hard, and the people you share it with.
Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata opened in 2025 and a friend told me I had to check it out. I went expecting a cool hike. What I found was a world-class route — iron rungs bolted into canyon sandstone, a suspension bridge over a river gorge, cable traverses with nothing but air below you — tucked away in the Utah desert and still largely undiscovered by most of the country.
I went back. I brought friends. I watched their faces change as they stepped onto the route for the first time. That mix of fear, focus, and total presence — I want more people to feel that.
The only problem: you can't do this route without proper gear, and most people don't own it. They were missing out not because they weren't capable, but because they didn't own a harness and lanyard they'd use once a year.
Gorge Gear Co exists to fix that. Book online, pick up your kit in Provo on the way to Vernal, and go make a memory you won't forget.
WhatWe'reAbout.
Making Adventure Accessible
The gear barrier is the only thing standing between most people and an unforgettable experience. We remove that barrier so anyone can go.
Memories With People You Love
Via ferrata isn't just climbing — it's an experience you share. Some of the best days on the route are with friends and family who have never done anything like it before.
Local Knowledge
I've done this route. I know the gear it demands, the conditions to watch for, and exactly what you need to have a safe and incredible day out there.
EveryKit,PersonallyPrepared
I inspect and pack every rental kit myself. When you pick up your gear, you're getting something a real climber has checked — not something pulled from a warehouse shelf. That matters on a via ferrata.
